On the occasion of Milan Design Week, NODUS will present new rugs by Färg & Blanche, Xavier Lust, Joost van Bleiswijk (the “Ripped, Teared and Colored Carpets” triptych, pictured here), Estudio Campana, Clementine Chambon, Giuseppe Manzoni and Alicia Palys (the “Sinking Circles”, pictured here).
The NODUS rugs are intricately handmade, with the best traditional and experimental materials, in manufacturing centres with ethical certification.
The “Ripped and teared and colored carpets” by Joost van Bleiswijk, are described by the designer. “The gesture of instinctively ripping paper is followed by the precise action of creating a composition of balancing shapes and colors. Each composition is then carefully turned into unique knotted rugs revealing the torn and rough edges.
The design process develops in two steps: One free and one restrained and the result is fresh and joyful. The excellent quality of Nodus rugs is needed to reveal these rough, yet beautiful details.”

Whilst the woollen carpets by Alicia Palys – the Sinking Circles, “Sinking Circles expresses a paired simplicity and an optical game as a blend of raw aesthetic with a special sensitivity to our perception. This pattern is precisely composed to enrich our visual experience. The concept is based on symmetry and a smooth colour change in overlapping stripes, so the carpet will fit into any space.
From the perspective or from above – it’s appearing in different ways, revealing its particular features when one element is sinking into the other one.”
